Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend is bringing Northern Ireland’s farm-to-fork story to life with a brand-new immersive 360° video experience filmed at Stonebridge Farm, Ballygowan.
The interactive video gives viewers a first-hand glimpse into life on a working farm, allowing them to explore in every direction by moving their phone or dragging their mouse across the screen. From prize-winning pigs to children bottle-feeding lambs, the experience offers an authentic look at modern farming and the care that goes into producing local food.
Viewers can walk alongside Robbie and his family as they care for pigs, cattle and sheep, before finishing in the farm shop where produce is sold directly to customers. The experience has been designed to open up farming life to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit a farm in person.
Organised by the Ulster Farmers’ Union, Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend welcomes thousands of visitors each year to farms across Northern Ireland. The event returns on 13–14 June, with a dedicated schools’ day taking place on Friday 12 June. Visitors can enjoy farm tours, animal handling, food demonstrations and interactive activities while learning more about where their food comes from.
John McLenaghan, President of the Ulster Farmers’ Union, said: “Open Farm Weekend is all about opening the farm gates to the public and helping people understand the journey from farm to fork. Our new 360° video is another way for people to experience farming life and hopefully inspire even more visitors to come along and visit one of our participating farms this June.”
