Stonebridge Farm is located in the heart of Co. Down, in the townland of Ravara, between Ballygowan and Saintfield. The farm is now home to the Neill family—Robbie, Louise, and their three young children—who have recently moved to Robbie’s grandparents’ farm.
Joining them at Ravara is their well-established herd of pedigree pigs, along with their flock of North Country Cheviot sheep. At Stonebridge, the focus is on their Pedigree Saddleback pigs, which have brought them great success in recent years including UK Pedigree Pig Farmer of the Year 2024.
The herd is fed on a sustainable diet of brewers’ grain and whey, earning them the nickname “Eco Pig” and promoting sustainability in farming. The farm also operates a small farm shop, championing the Farm to Fork movement by offering high-quality, homegrown produce.
This will be Stonebridge Farm’s first year participating in Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend, and the Neill family is excited to share their story with schoolchildren and visitors while showcasing their plans for the future at Ravara.
