- The event is back on farms this year. This means you can visit any of the participating farms (that are open to the public) without pre-booking. More than 20,000 are expected across all farms across the entire three days.
- The first day of the event on Friday 17 June is for pre-registered school children only. This means it is not open to the public on this day.
- Saturday 18 June and Sunday 19 June are the days that farms are open to the public; times will vary depending on the farm, so for farm opening information, it’s best to visit the plan your visit tab on the Open Farm Weekend website https://openfarmweekend.com/plan-your-visit/
- Open Farm Weekend is free to attend – there are many free of charge activities planned throughout the day however, there may be additional charges for external vendors who are on farms.
- There are 18 working farms participating this year across all counties: Acton House Farm | Armagh Apple Farm at Ballinteggart House | Blackberry Hill Farm (Schools Day only) | Bullsbrook Farm | Broughgammon Farm | Chesnutt Farms | Churchview Farm | CAFRE Greenmount Campus| CAFRE Enniskillen Campus| D&D Holland| Hollow Farm (Schools Day only) | Jamison Farms| Laurel View Farm | Long Meadow Farm | Millbank Farm | Mullygarry Farm | Redhouse Holsteins (Schools Day only) | Seaview Farms
- As well as opening to the public, there will be two farms streamed live on the Open Farm Weekend Facebook page- CAFRE Greenmount on Friday 17 June and Churchview Farm on Saturday 18 June which means you can watch activities taking place at these farms online.
- Farms will have inside and outside areas for you to enjoy, so plan for the weather and bring appropriate clothing and shoes / wellies. There will also be toilet and hand washing facilities on every farm.
- The aim of Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend is to showcase the outstanding contribution farms and farm families make in producing the quality food we so often take for granted. This year’s event will focus on women in agriculture, environmental issues and the farm to fork story so have a chat with the farm hosts and they will be happy to answer any questions you have.
- Every farm is different- some will have animals, some focus on machinery – check out their social media for previews about what’s happening. Also there are competitions running on the Open Farm Weekend social media channels so tune into them if you can.
- If you are unwell or have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), you must stay at home (self-isolate) and get a test; please DO NOT participate in this event; https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/
