LMC is delighted to sponsor this year’s Open Farm Weekend for the first time. Founded in 1967, LMC’s main role is to examine and inform the marketing and development of the Northern Ireland beef and sheep meat industry. Alongside providing market information and educating post-primary school pupils on the merits of including red meat in the diet, LMC owns and manages the Northern Ireland Beef and Lamb Farm Quality Assurance Scheme (NIBL FQAS) which was developed to give consumers assurances about the farm end of the production chain. Currently approximately 12,000 farmers across Northern Ireland are participants in the Farm Quality Assurance Scheme.
