Located in Ballymena, Hillstown Farm shop and mixed farm is probably best known for its food and drink. Set on 150 acres, this fifth-generation farm houses beef cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens and even llamas. When the Farm Shop opened in 2007, Hillstown subsequently changed their breeding policy to producing traditional free range animals.
The farm shop and brewery are famous in Country Antrim and beyond with its craft speciality beer winning countless taste awards throughout the years. This brewery was started with the intention of creating an affordable delicacy, the best Wagyu beef in the country!
Owner Nigel Logan is proud of Hillstown’s rich tradition of producing beef, pork, lamb and free range chickens, working with a highly skilled team of in-house butchers and chefs to create delicious dishes with produce taken directly from the farm.
He believes Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend is a great way to educate the public on how they take their produce through the different stages from field to fork.
