A new edition to Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend, Drumderg Farm is a dairy farm in Tempo, County Fermanagh. The farm is run by Andrew & Margaret Little, along with Andrew’s father Raymond. This family have farmed here since 1979 and enjoy looking after a 120 strong dairy herd and just over 200 acres of lush Fermanagh grassland.
Drumderg rear all their own calves, which is one aspect of farm life that Margaret particularly enjoys. The joy of seeing new life on the farm and watching the calves healthy and thriving makes all the hard work extremely worthwhile. Margaret has also introduced her very own herd of Pedigree Simmentals to Drumderg which she has successfully shown at agricultural shows including Balmoral.
Andrew and Margaret wanted to participate in Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend to showcase their beautiful County of Fermanagh which has a thriving agricultural commun ity. As farmers, they feel they have a responsibility to show people what they do and to educate them about where food comes from and the high standards of animal welfare here in Northern Ireland.
The family enjoy meeting new people and showing them around their farm and we are delighted to have them as a new member of the Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend family.
